Stirling’s Hogmanay

To celebrate Hogmanay 2018 and bring in the New Year in style, Stirling will host two spectacular events on the iconic Stirling Castle Esplanade. There is no better place to bring in the New Year!

Family Fireworks Event Monday 31 December

7.15pm – Gates open

7.45pm – 9.00pm Radio roadshow in partnership with Capital Scotland and DJ Fat Brestovca, featuring competitions and live music performances. Full event programme will be announced nearer the time. There will be hot food vendors on site and adults (over 18) can bring their own alcohol on site (please note no glass will be allowed).

9.00pm – Spectacular overhead fireworks from the grounds of Stirling Castle. The fireworks at the Family Event are specifically designed for a family audience and will be softer and quieter than the later event.

9.15pm – Event closes

Tickets £6 each or £20 for a family ticket of four (all attendees must have a valid ticket including babies). £1 booking fee per ticket. The main event access will be via the steps next to the Portcullis – there will be wheelchair access via the Stirling Castle access road).


Midnight Fireworks Event Monday 31 December

10.15pm – Gates open

10.45pm – Midnight Radio roadshow in partnership with Capital Scotland and DJ Fat Brestovca, featuring competitions and live music performances. Full event programme will be announced nearer the time. There will be hot food vendors on site and adults (over 18) can bring their own alcohol on site (please note no glass will be allowed).

Midnight – Spectacular fireworks display simultaneously from the grounds of Stirling Castle and the National Wallace Monument. This amazing display will herald in the 150thanniversary year for the National Wallace Monument. (Please note these fireworks will be louder and more impactful than the earlier event and may not be suitable for younger children)

12.15am – Event closes

Tickets £10 each (all attendees must have a valid ticket). £1 booking fee per ticket. The main event access will be via the steps next to the Portcullis – there will be wheelchair access via the Stirling Castle access road).


 

Both events will be ticketed with tickets available through the Culture Stirling website. Plan early and book your tickets in advance. Those without a ticket will not be able to enter the Esplanade area.

There will also be many other events and activities taking place throughout Stirling on December 31st, including family ceilidhs at The Tolbooth and the traditional and very popular Albert Halls Hogmanay Ceilidh, with dinner, dancing, entertainment and a full bar.

Come along and enjoy the festive fun!

For family groups, why not make a day of it and bring your family to the afternoon ceilidh and finish the evening off at our family fireworks display? It’s sure to be a day to remember!
